`Against Vatican II`?

I am assured here are people out there who think this blog is `against Vatican II` but so far none of them has offered any proof. Maybe that`s because there isn`t any. So would those who make such claims please now take back their accusation or at least stop making it?

The problem is Father that so few have actually read the documents of Vatican II. The Holy Father is right in this Year of Faith to encourage us to revisit these, and then, perhaps, respond with an informed opinion.

I suppose that in the time-line of councils, and when compared to Nicea and Trent, Vatican II provided no doctrinal changes. Please God we will all become better informed, and realise just how much has been lost (and gained) under the pretence that Vatican II 'promulgated it' when in fact, in many cases, it did not!!

Your in good company, for all VII says about communion with the Pope, the Pope himself is so often accused being "against Vatican II".

One should say the documents and the plain teaching of the Second Vatican Council are "against Vatican II", that is nonsensical. In fact it is based on nothing but ignorance of VII.
I would suggest that that is why your accusers having nothing to say: they are ignorant of what the Council actually taught. Worst, they cling to that ignorance, and resist anything, including the truth, that might challenge it.

Do not let them disturb you Father M.
I was going to say "Shoot the buggers" but that would be against Christianity and humanity, although I cannot find any explicit prohibition against it in Vatican II.

I wouldn't worry about these accusations, Father Brown.

They're no doubt made by people wholly ignorant of what the Second Vatican Council actually said - and more likely influenced by the non-existant (lower-case) spirit of said Council.

The truth will out - and meanwhile, the biological solution will help ease the problem.

Father, please do not let negative voices worry you. Your blog is excellent, please do not allow unnamed and unsubstantial negative voices to keep you from writing. No one who reads Forest Murmurs could seriously think that you are not faithful to the Church.

Don't worry about these people my friend. In this Year of Faith we all need to read/reread the documents of Vatican 11 to learn or remind ourselves what the Council actually said and what it really taught.

Anon 2 I have been told that there are people who are critical because this blog is perceived as being against Vatican II. As I mentioned in the previous post the nearest I could get to an answer was the issue of Mass ad orientem.
