Midnight Mass photos

Thanks to Frank for the following photos from Midnight Mass. Mass went very well thanks to the the Jarrow schola and the altar team. There were sixty-three in the congregation. Mass was followed by mulled wine and mince pies. The 5.30pm Vigil Mass was as usual the best attended Mass of the year with not a spare seat to be had and an overflow of the congregation into the hall.

Vigil Masses seem to have taken off. I'm not sure if it is altogether a good thing. It is not as if most of us hear the proper readings for the Vigil Mass! Good that people actually come to Mass at Christmas, but is Christmas Mass becoming the last thing to be got out of the way before we begin to get on with the real thing?
