Many thanks to Frank Erskine for these pictures from last night.

I attended your midnight Mass, my first EF Mass. Thank you so much for a wonderful, spiritual and reverential experience. There was a real sense of occasion (helped in no small part by the fact that people were silently praying and waiting rather than causing mayhem as sadly happens so often in our churches these days). I found myself getting really excited for the start of Mass as the carols progressed. I've heard and read so much about EF Mass and wasn't disappointed. It shows how much some churches and priests have strayed from what Mass is supposed to be about. Thank you once again.
Em, I`m so glad the Mass was such a wonderful occasion for you. Reactions like yours convince me it is worth persevering. I hope you manage to find an EF Mass near you.

It looks as if you had a wonderful Christmas celebration.
But what was it that made Fr B look so astonished in photo 2?
I think we should be told...
I don`t remember being surprised. I think it was more me trying to emphasise a point of the sermon by movement of the eyebrows

It wasn't the astonished look in photo 2 that caught my attention but the appearance of a great big black beard in photo no. 1!
Father, don't you ever wish it could be Christmas every day?
