Technical Troubles

This morning I found I couldn`t access this blog nor any other UK priestly blog nor the NLM nor Fr Z. We have heard that the bishops are considering what to say about priestly blogs but I doubted that even the bishops had that much sway with Google! After some investigation it proved to be a problem with Site Meter. It seems to be fixed now. In the meantime I created an emergency blog Forest Murmurs Rides Again which will not use Site Meter but which I imagine will be largely dormant.

Yes, it was most odd. I always do a read of a spectrum of sites and did wonder if there was a pattern but as both Traditio and the LMS worked it seemed fairly clear the problem was a technical one.

On the Z blog some kind person gave instructions on how to change a setting in IE that resolves the problem. These instructions worked for me.

Ah, I had the same problem, yet my reaction was something less calm. More like "Oh #@%$£!!! I've broken dad's laptop!!!"

Needless to say I am relieved that others had this problem too.

I spoke to Sheila W today (OK yesterday!)(or rather she spoke to me) about your blog troubles and thought the bishops of E&W must be having some influence on these 'troublesome' priests...

Frank it seems it was all very strange but rather mundane. Did yoo notice that Bishop MacMahon told Fr Finnigan at the Oxford conference to `keep on blogging`?
