Really.

I like the return of the "Oh Lord I am not worthy" but I wish they'd had it as they did just post Latin Mass and pre 69. "that You should come under my roof speak but the word....." Frankly, if they had just left that first translation alone for a while.....we'd have been a lot better off.

I DON'T like the choose a) b) or c) business FAR too many parishes DON'T say the confiteor and pick a simple-simon option.

And they should nuke all those "chidlren's Mass" EP's too.gemoftheoceanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05521207668262592414noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35539648.post-17671102489355878402008-07-27T08:28:00.000+01:002008-07-27T08:28:00.000+01:00Frank, I agree that capitalisation would be prefer...Frank, I agree that capitalisation would be preferable for personal pronouns referring to God.Fr Michael Brownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15320336535138538635noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35539648.post-52876379056802554812008-07-27T00:30:00.000+01:002008-07-27T00:30:00.000+01:00What I dislike about all these translations is add...What I dislike about all these translations is addressing Our Lord as "you" rather than "Thee".
Even "You" would be an improvement.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35539648.post-30382392303711370482008-07-26T08:25:00.000+01:002008-07-26T08:25:00.000+01:00The main change to the confiteor is "the text “thr...The main change to the confiteor is "the text “through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault” has been added".Fr Michael Brownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15320336535138538635noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35539648.post-66570602234112533772008-07-26T03:17:00.000+01:002008-07-26T03:17:00.000+01:00Is the confiteor remaining as we have it now?Is the confiteor remaining as we have it now?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35539648.post-84236334534526826202008-07-25T23:09:00.000+01:002008-07-25T23:09:00.000+01:00You're very patient :)I hope you won't have to wai...You're very patient :)
I hope you won't have to wait too long.madame evangelistahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15993391171000966131noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35539648.post-54626796801033539762008-07-25T22:19:00.000+01:002008-07-25T22:19:00.000+01:00The new translation makes clear it is a quote from...The new translation makes clear it is a quote from the Gospel and reminds us that we have souls.
